Hillary Clinton returns to Texas to promote memoir

AUSTIN, Texas — Hillary Rodham Clinton is returning to Texas to promote her new memoir about her four years as President Barack Obama's secretary of state.

The potential 2016 Democratic presidential candidate will be in Austin on Friday night to discuss her book Hard Choices. Her arrival comes a day after Obama announced that he was sending up to 300 military advisers to Iraq to help quell a rising insurgency.

Clinton's successor, Secretary of State John Kerry, says the Obama administration has been deeply engaged in the Middle East amid criticism that the U.S. has been too passive in Iraq.

Hard Choices sold more than 100,000 copies during its first week. The book ends with Clinton saying she's still undecided about seeking the presidency again.
