GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

Gamma Zeta chapter notes 50 years of UALR service

A host of women -- with a man or two in tow -- turned out to reconnect at a reception celebrating the 50th anniversary of the installation of the Gamma Zeta chapter of Chi Omega sorority at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Attendees at the event, which took place May 30 in the Legends Room at the Jack Stephens Center, perused a half century of sorority memorabilia while enjoying libations and refreshments.

Event chairman Mauri Douglass welcomed guests during a program that featured remarks from Joel Anderson, chancellor of UALR; Letitia Fulkerson, national president of Chi Omega; and Joellyn Sullivan, former national vice president.

Chi Omega chapters nationally use their 50th anniversaries to give a gift to the university or college where the chapter is located. Highlighting this event was the presentation of two gifts to UALR: an endowed scholarship for active members of the chapter and a Chi Omega Courtyard on the campus, which should be completed by the fall semester. Past chapter advisers, as well as 50-year members, were recognized.
