Arkansas American Legion picks new leader

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The American Legion Department of Arkansas has elected a new state commander.

Jake Greeling of American Legion Post #341 in Bella Vista was elected the 2014-2015 state commander during the organization's convention on Saturday. According to the legion, Greeling enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1962 and served in West Germany during the Cold War.

He joined the American Legion in 2004 and has held various leadership positions for the organization, including first vice commander and department historian. He and his wife live in Bella Vista.
