Hope Police Department officials are investigating as suspicious the death of a man who was found in a Hope apartment Sunday morning.
Officers responded about 3:34 a.m. Sunday to a report of an injured person at 1307 E. Third St., where they found Robert Brown, 29, unconscious in the living room, the Hope Police Department said in a statement.
Police said Brown exhibited obvious signs of trauma on his body and he was airlifted to Saint Michael’s Hospital in Texarkana, Texas, where he was later pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Brown fell from a moving vehicle in the 1100 block of East Third Street and friends moved him to the apartment before they notified police and medical personnel, police said.
Hope police said Brown's death has been preliminarily categorized as suspicious and is being investigated by the department's Criminal Investigative Division.
