Search continues for missing Pine Bluff inmate

PINE BLUFF — The search continues for an Arkansas inmate who walked away from a work assignment in the Pine Bluff area.

Arkansas Department of Correction spokesman Shea Wilson said 47-year-old Timothy Buffington remains missing Monday morning. Buffington had trusty status at the Pine Bluff unit and left his work assignment Saturday evening.

Authorities are searching in Pine Bluff and other locations where Buffington may have ties. Buffington is serving a 20-year sentence for first-degree murder conviction out of Logan County, and authorities say he is considered armed and dangerous.

The search is being conducted by correctional officers and local and state law enforcement agencies.

Buffington is described as white, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 182 pounds.
