BLYTHEVILLE — Officials say no one was injured after a train derailed in Blytheville.
Police Chief Ross Thompson said the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train derailed about 2 p.m. Sunday near Ash Street. Thompson said the derailed train blocked several intersections in Blytheville.
The cause of the derailment hasn't been confirmed, but Thompson told the Blytheville Courier News that a switch malfunction may be to blame.
Thompson said no hazardous material spilled from the train.
