HARDY — An Arkansas man featured on Clash of the Ozarks has been sentenced to three years of probation and six months of home detention after pleading guilty to a federal gun charge.
Prosecutors accused Kerry Wayne Evans of illegally possessing an unregistered machine gun. Evans appeared on Discovery Channel's reality show Clash of the Ozarks, which highlights two feuding families in the Arkansas town of Hardy.
Evans had faced up to 10 years in prison on the charge. He was sentenced in a court hearing Friday and was also fined $4,000.
In a court filing, Evans' attorney described his client as "devoted to his community and exceptionally involved in civic activities." The filing says Evans takes responsibility for illegally possessing the gun.
A spokesman for the Discovery Channel declined to comment.
