Little Rock police investigate a shooting Wednesday at Beacon Hill Apartments, located at 1801 Reservoir Road.

Police say one person has died and another is in serious condition after a Wednesday morning shooting at a Little Rock apartment complex.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said the shooting occurred about 8:47 a.m. inside a building at the Beacon Hill Apartments at 1801 Reservoir Road.

Officers found a gunshot victim outside an apartment in the complex's Building 9, a police report states. Davis said the second victim was inside the apartment.

One of the victims told officers that he answered a knock on the door and three attackers, described only as black and male, were standing in the doorway, where they fired shots.

The other victim died about an hour after the shooting at Baptist Medical Center-Little Rock, authorities said.

The surviving victim was transported to UAMS Medical Center, according to the police report.

The Police Department is working with apartment complex officials to try to obtain surveillance video that could possibly lead to identification of the shooter or shooters, Davis said.
