Parolee held in assault using coffee table, iron

A 28-year-old parolee from Jonesboro was arrested early Wednesday on accusations he assaulted two of his family members with a coffee table and an iron.

Robert McKenzie remained in the Pulaski County jail later Wednesday morning with bail not yet set. He faces two charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Little Rock police say McKenzie was arrested about 1:30 a.m. at an address in the 11000 block of Mara Lynn Road.

According to an arrest report, McKenzie "struck his sister with a coffee table and his brother with an iron." The report did not say whether either sibling was hurt. It also wasn't clear what started the altercation.

Online parole records show McKenzie is an absconder on standard parole through 2019.

Police say McKenzie has a July 2 court date on the latest charges.
