Man robs ATM inside Conway bowling alley

A Conway bowling alley was burglarized by a man who took a torch to an ATM and stole the cash from inside, police said.

An employee of Conway Family Bowl, 1010 E. Oak St., arrived at the business Wednesday morning to find the front door broken and a hole cut into the ATM, according to a statement released by the Conway Police Department.

When officers reviewed the surveillance footage, they watched a man enter the bowling alley about 1:30 a.m., leave and return with tools and a torch. The man cut a hole in the side of the ATM, took the cash out and left, police said.

Employees at the bowling alley said the machine can hold about $3,000, but at the time of the burglary it was probably about half full.

The case is under investigation and the identity of the man is still unknown.
