Man, 21, accused

of sex with girl, 14

A Little Rock man was arrested Friday on accusations of sexual indecency with a child, accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Police responded Friday to Jamie Lynn Drive in South Little Rock about 6 a.m. for reports of a suspicious person in the area. There, an officer saw James Blake Causey, 21, walking from a driveway. Because Causey fit the description of the suspicious person, police stopped him. Causey told officers his car had broken down and he was looking for a jump-start, according to the arrest report.

Police followed Causey to his vehicle, which was parked nearby. Police said Causey was "pacing and stuttering," and an officer told Causey that he didn't believe his story. Causey responded by telling officers that he had been at the home of his 17-year-old girlfriend, according to police.

An officer asked Causey if there was anything else police needed to know, and Causey took a small bag of marijuana from his car and handed it over, according to police. Causey was arrested and taken to the criminal investigations division.

Police said that after the arrest, an officer found a glass pipe in Causey's car. Police then went to the home of Causey's girlfriend and spoke with the teen and her father. The father told police that the girl was 14, according to the arrest report.

The girl then told police that she and Causey smoked marijuana and had intercourse earlier that day, according to police. She also said that Causey knew she was 14.

Causey is being held in Pulaski County jail on a suicide hold because of statements he made to an officer, police said. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, endangering the welfare of a minor and three counts of sexual indecency with a child.

Two women were arrested Thursday on drug charges, according to police.

The North Little Rock narcotics unit executed a warrant about 12:30 p.m. Thursday at 4401 E. Broadway. Inside the apartment, officers found approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine, pipes, two scales and plastic bags, according to the arrest reports.

Betty Ann Rhiddlehoover, 55, and Amy Lea McClain, 34, were both booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug premises. In addition, Rhiddlehoover was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and McClain was charged with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

According to police, McClain said "it's all mine" during the search.

Rhiddlehoover is being held in lieu of $20,000 bond, and McClain is held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

According to police, a Little Rock man admitted he had guns and drugs in his vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West 21st Street about 10:30 p.m. Thursday after reports that someone in a maroon Grand Marquis was smoking drugs. Police found the vehicle at 2108 Marion St.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle said he had marijuana in his pocket. Police said the man then took from his pocket two bags containing a total of 5 grams of marijuana. The man also told an officer that he had a handgun in the car, according to police.

After arresting Brian Shamere Mayweather, 30, police said they found a loaded Taurus Millennium Pro .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun on the driver's side floorboard. Officers also found a scale, according to police.

Mayweather was booked into Pulaski County jail and charged with possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.

A Jacksonville man is facing drug charges after his arrest Friday, according to police.

An officer was patrolling the 700 block of Pike Avenue in North Little Rock about 3:30 p.m. Friday when he saw a man walking away from a single-vehicle accident. The officer approached the man and noticed something in his pocket. According to an arrest report, the man told the officer that it was marijuana.

During a search, the officer found a .45-caliber handgun, a digital scale, a large amount of cash and 28.7 grams of marijuana in the man's pockets, police said.

Shanta Conners, 29, of Jacksonville was booked into Pulaski County jail and charged with possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.
