Medic tries to helpman, is attacked

A paramedic was attacked Saturday by a man she was trying to help, North Little Rock police reported.

The paramedic suffered a black eye and a cut under her right eye while aiding Tyrone Russell, 38, of Little Rock on Springhill Road about 9:20 p.m., the report states.

When police arrived at the scene, they saw that Russell had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of intoxicants, the report states.

Russell was charged with second-degree battery and public intoxication. He was being held in the Pulaski County jail late Sunday in lieu of $10,100 bond.

LR woman chargedwith theft, fleeing

Police said a Little Rock woman drove away from a Sears store in someone else's vehicle when officers tried to question her about shoplifting Saturday.

Ebonie Louden, 28, is charged with theft of property, fleeing and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

According to an arrest affidavit from the Little Rock Police Department, Louden concealed multiple pieces of jewelry and three pairs of shoes from a Sears store at 600 S. University Ave. and took them without paying. The items were valued at $379.97, the affidavit states.

When officers tried to make contact with Louden, she fled the scene in a silver Dodge Aspen that belonged to a woman she was with in the store, according to an arrest report from police.

The woman told police that Louden took her keys and that Louden did not have permission to use the vehicle, the report states.

Louden was not listed on the roster of the Pulaski County jail late Sunday.

1 held in robbery,scuffle at Kroger

A Little Rock man was arrested Saturday after a struggle with Kroger employees who tried to detain him for stealing, according to a report from North Little Rock police.

According to the report, West Davenport, 68, was stopped by workers at the Kroger at 900 W. Pershing Blvd. in North Little Rock on Saturday night after items concealed in his clothing set off the store's security alarm.

After being stopped, Davenport handed over the items, the report states.

Police reported that when the employees tried to detain Davenport, he said he was going to "knock out" the workers, and a struggle ensued.

Davenport was charged with robbery and criminal trespass and was being held at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $25,500 bond late Sunday.

Police charge manin computer theft

A Little Rock man was arrested late Saturday night after police said he stole a computer from his ex-girlfriend's home.

Police believe Eric Winston, 44, entered the home through a broken window, the police report states.

Officers said they saw Winston leaving his ex-girlfriend's residence on Wilbur Drive carrying a computer.

According to the report, Winston went back into the house when he was spotted. Police followed him into the house, where he continued to resist arrest, the report states.

When he was handcuffed and police attempted to put him in a patrol car, he broke away, the report states.

Winston is charged with burglary, theft of property, criminal mischief, fleeing and resisting arrest.

He was being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $7,000 bond late Sunday.
