NLR, LR authorities respond to bomb in Burns Park

North Little Rock and Little Rock authorities have safely removed what was determined to be a bomb in Burns Park on Wednesday morning.

North Little Rock police officers responded to the scene at the end of Catfish Drive about 10:13 a.m. after a patrolling park ranger noticed a "suspicious device," North Little Rock Police spokesman Shana Cobbs said in a statement. Cobbs confirmed with an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reporter that officers determined the device to be a bomb.

A Little Rock Fire Department bomb squad assisted police with safely removing the bomb and will help investigate its components and origin, the news release states.
