Huckabee: Obama has diminished U.S. might

OXON HILL, Md. — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on Friday said the United States’ standing in the world has diminished under President Barack Obama and its next leader faces a tough task in rebuilding America’s might.

Huckabee told an annual gathering of conservative leaders and activists that “no one trusts us, no one listens to us, no one respects us, no one fears us.” Huckabee, who is weighing a presidential campaign in 2016, said the United States has reduced its military power and other nations have taken advantage of it.

Huckabee said that as a result, Russian President Vladimir Putin shakes only when he takes his shirt off in the Russian winter but not when Washington threatens him.
