A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle on Arch Street Pike in Pulaski County.

Pulaski County Coroner Gerone Hobbs said it happened early Tuesday near North Landmark Circle.

The man's name has not been released. Hobbs said he died at the scene.

Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said troopers were dispatched at 6:11 a.m., finding the man dead in the roadway at 17502 Arch Street Pike.

"Preliminary information indicates the man was struck by one or two motor vehicles," Sadler said in an email.

Hobbs said it was not a hit-and-run.

The body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
