Panel to talk about empowering girls

The Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service will host a panel Monday in honor of Women’s History Month on the empowerment of women and girls.

Panelists include: Penny Abeywadena, who leads the Clinton Global Initiative’s Girls and Women program and is associate director of commitments; Jimmie Briggs, co-founder and executive director of the Man Up Campaign; Ruby Johnson, general co-coordinator of FRIDA/The Young Feminist Fund; Jerry Jones, chief ethics and legal officer, executive vice president and assistant secretary at Acxiom; Sarah Kambou, president of the International Center for Research on Women; Immaculee Kayitare, a Clinton School student from Kigali, Rwanda; and Sarah Thorn, senior director of federal government relations for Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
