Greenland man pleads guilty to killing wife and mother-in-law

A Greenland man accused of killing his wife and mother-in-law and critically injuring a third family member pleaded guilty in exchange for life sentences Friday.

Mandrake Patterson, 28, pleaded guilty to two counts of felony capital murder and one count of attempted capital murder.

Betty DeSalvo, 53, was shot in the head at a Greenland apartment and pronounced dead at the scene on Jan. 10, 2013, according to police. Hope Patterson, 34, was shot in the stomach and died at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. Denise Fulfer, 55, was shot in the shoulder and survived.
