Fight in Cabot leaves 1 dead, 1 hurt

Cabot police are investigating after an early morning fight Monday left one man dead and another injured.

Officers were called about 1:44 a.m. to 12 Carol Cove, where a man had knocked on the door, a resident answered and the two men got into a physical fight, Cabot Police Department Sgt. Keith Graham said in a statement.

The resident was "attacked with an unknown object and in the head several times," police said. He defended himself with a baseball bat, Graham said.

Both men were taken to a hospital, where the resident is being treated for his injuries and the other man was pronounced dead, according to the statement

The names of the men will be released as soon as possible, Cabot police said.
