FORT SMITH — The director of the Arkansas Archaeological Survey will give a talk about research at the Spiro Mounds on Tuesday at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.
George Sabo III will give a presentation about the research being performed at the prehistoric American Indian archaeological site located in Oklahoma.
The Southwest Times Record reported that he will also discuss plans for a new collaborative effort between the Arkansas Archaeological Survey, the Oklahoma Archaeological Survey and the Caddo and Wichita Indian nations.
The talk is set for 7 p.m. in the Reynolds Room of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center.
