U.S. 65 work to shut lanes in Pine Bluff on Wednesday

Work on U.S. 65, also known as the Martha Mitchell Expressway, will require lane closures Wednesday in Pine Bluff, state highway officials said.

Crews installing mast arms for a new traffic signal at U.S. 65 and University Avenue will require intermittent closures of the north- and southbound lanes of U.S. 65, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said in a statement. Traffic will be stopped for only up to 15 minutes at a time, the department said.

The closures will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, weather permitting, the department said.

Crews will deploy barrels and warning signs to alert drivers.
