MovieStyle: The next 'Hunger Games'?

By The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

This article was published March 20, 2014 at 11:04 a.m.

That’s what Lions Gate and Summit Entertainment are hoping for in Divergent, this week’s would-be blockbuster (it’s no coincidence it’s opening on the same late March weekend as the original Hunger Games film did in 2012), which stars Shailene Woodley in a role that’s not too different from the one that transformed Jennifer Lawrence from a promising newcomer to full-fledged movie star. Founding editor Karen Martin reviews the film and gives us the back story in this week’s MovieStyle.

But wait, there’s more! Karen also contributes a review of the crowd-funded Veronica Mars movie and (speaking of Ms. Lawrence) reviews the DVD release of American Hustle in her Home Movies column, while Philip Martin takes on the indie dramedy Better Living Through Chemistry and Dan Lybarger reports on the latest Muppets movie.

Read tomorrow's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette for full details.
