Park officials to host fly fishing workshop

ROGERS — Arkansans interested in learning how to fly fish can learn the sport's basic methods during a four-hour workshop at a state park in Rogers.

The seminar will start at 12 p.m. March 30 at Hobbs State Park's Conservation Area's visitor center on Arkansas 12 in Northwest Arkansas.

Sallyann Brown, who's won several fly fishing awards, will teach. Beginners will learn the basic techniques of fly fishing, including casting lines into the water; wading while fishing; and assembling and storing equipment.

Two hours will be spent inside a classroom and two hours will be spent outside in the state park.

Fly fishing equipment will be provided. Participants must be at least 12 years old.

The workshop is $35 dollars per person and reservations are required.
