Man killed by train near Clarksville identified

— Johnson County authorities have released the name of a pedestrian who was killed by a train near Clarksville.

The Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that the victim was 50-year-old Tyle Eugene Perrin of Tulsa, Okla.

Perrin died Friday after he was struck by a Union Pacific train. The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory identified Perrin.

Investigators said they are trying to determine how long Perrin had been in the Clarksville area and where he was living prior to being killed.

Perrin was struck while he was on a train trestle over a backwater of the Arkansas River. He was thrown about 30 feet and was found in about 13 feet of water by a sheriff's dive team.
