HOT SPRINGS — The administrative offices of the Hot Springs Housing Authority have been raided by federal agents with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Inspector General.
The Sentinel-Record reported that agents could be seen searching different offices, removing boxes and searching some vehicles in the parking lot.
Hot Springs Police Capt. Jason Stachey told the newspaper that the agents are looking into allegations of misconduct. Housing and Urban Development-Office of Inspector General Assistant Special Agent in Charge Brandon Gardener said he can't comment other than to say an investigation is ongoing.
Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Chairman Al Carney said he doesn't know the nature of the allegations, and the authority's attorney said he hasn't been allowed to see the search warrant.
The authority oversees public housing in Hot Springs.
