AfroZep, a Chicago-based band that blends African rhythms in paying tribute to Led Zeppelin, will perform at 9 p.m. today at Stickyz Rock ’n’ Roll Chicken Shack.
Admission is $7.
Founded in 2009, AfroZep does some tunes the band characterizes as “straight mash-ups of Fela Kuti and Zeppelin, others are Zep tunes but set to original grooves based off the music of artists such as Tinariwen, Thomas Mapfumo and Franco, and others are stripped down Zeppelin arrangements injected with the pulse of African drumming.”
The group is led by Wilson (guitar and vocals), Marshall Greenhouse (drums) and Ryan Behling (bass and lead vocals), plus a rotating cast of percussionists, and rock and jazz horn players.
On Friday, the club will host a local favorite, Benjamin Del Shreve, at an 8:30 p.m. show. Del Shreve is based in Fayetteville and describes himself as “a rocker, poet, bohemian and musician.”
Cover charge is $7.

Juanita’s will host Steve Hester & Deja VooDoo on Saturday night. Akeem Kemp, along with acoustic duo John Michael Vance and Justin Payne, will open the show at 9 p.m.
Tickets are $5 in advance, $8 at the door.
Hester and his group are a blues-rock band based in Little Rock that tours nationally.
Sunday, the club will hold Indie Music Night, featuring: 5:40, D.I., Montana Cash, King Juice and Gotti Man.

Raucous six-man Louisiana band Dirtfoot returns to central Arkansas for a show at 9 p.m. today at the Rev Room.
Dirtfoot calls its sound “a dose of gypsy punk country grumble boogie.”

Local party favorites The Tragikly White Band will perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Saturday, Matt Stell & Deep Roots will play at 9 p.m. Stell and his band, based near Morrilton, have played hundreds of shows in the past 2 1/2 years, and have opened for Paul Thorn, Ryan Bingham, Eric Church, ChrisKnight, Reckless Kelly, Luke Bryan, Randy Rogers and others.

Maxine’s in Hot Springs will host a Northwest Arkansas duo, Air Loom at 9 p.m. today. The duo consists of Dana Louise and Jackson Jennings. Air Loom has released a seven-song EP, Seeds, with four of the songs written by Louise and Jennings (one of their four songs was co-written by Louise’s father, Ezra Idlet, who is also part of a Northwest Arkansas duo, Trout Fishing in America).
Admission is free.
Friday night, the club will host a drag show, Mya’s Madams.
Saturday night, the club will present three rock bands: Not in the Face, with opening sets by two Arkansas bands, Peckerwolf and The Dangerous Idiots.
Shows both nights start at 9. Cover charge each night is $7.
