Little Rock firefighters use a ladder truck to access the roof of Catfish City on University Ave. while responding to a fire in the restaurant on Friday afternoon.

Little Rock officials said a large sign on the side of the Catfish City & BBQ Grill restaurant, located at 1817 S. University Ave., caught fire Friday afternoon.

There were no preliminary reports of injuries as a result of the fire.

Officials on the scene said it wasn't immediately clear what caused the blaze.

Restaurant workers said the restaurant will be open during normal business hours on Friday night. The restaurant is open until 8 p.m.

That same restaurant burned to the ground around this same time of year in 2002. Probably should have been mentioned in the article just to add some interest.

I remember that, but it's a good thing ONLY the sign caught fire THIS time. Some restaurants are more prone to fire than others because of how they cook food, such as catfish joints (deep fryers).
