Rep donors treated to tunes by Miserables leading man

Catherine and Ron Hughes hosted a reception at their home March 17 for donors to Arkansas Repertory Theatre.

The intimate event - about 30 guests - was a way to thank donors for their support and give them an opportunity to meet Douglas Webster, who is playing Jean Valjean in the Rep’s Les Miserables, in a more personal setting.

Webster entertained with stories about his career, and, accompanied by the Rep’s musical director Mark Binns on the Hugheses’ baby grand piano, sang a few songs, including “Some Enchanted Evening” from South Pacific and “If I Were a Rich Man” from Fiddler on the Roof.

Les Miserables runs through April 6.
