ID on remains found near LR jail to take weeks, police say

— Officials said Monday that it will take weeks to identify the remains found by a Little Rock man Sunday night.

A police report states that Little Rock officers responded to a call at 5:14 p.m. Sunday to 3400 W. 33rd St., where a man said he found a possible human skull and other human bones.

When officers responded, the coroner was notified and took possession of the remains.

Lt. Sidney Allen, spokesman for the Little Rock Police Department, said the cause of death is unknown, and officials are searching for the remaining body parts that were not found immediately.
