Two die in crashes on state roadways

Two people were killed in crashes Sunday in Arkansas, the Arkansas State Police reported.

Terry Johnson, 59, of Springdale was driving his Suzuki motorcycle south on Arkansas 295 in Madison County about 11 a.m. when he drove off the road while negotiating a curve. The motorcycle crashed into a ditch and Johnson was killed.

In North Little Rock, Glen Thomas, 45, was killed after crashing his Mitsubishi Montero on Interstate 40 about 7:45 a.m. Thomas was driving at a high rate of speed when he attempted to negotiate a curve at the Spring Hill exit, according to state police. The SUV overturned and landed upside down in a body of water.

Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.
