A judge on Thursday set bail at $350,000 for a man suspected of fatally shooting another man in a Little Rock street this week.

Keenan Lewis, 25, turned himself in late Wednesday afternoon and made an initial appearance Thursday in Little Rock District Court.

Prosecutors said during the brief video hearing before Judge Alice Lightle that two witnesses to the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Jason Harris identified Lewis in a photo lineup as the gunman. He faces a charge of first-degree murder.

Harris was found about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on the ground in the 1900 block of Sanford Drive with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center, where he died a short time later.

Police said witnesses reported that two men driving down the street stopped, rolled down their window and asked Harris whether he had a "beef with them." The driver of the vehicle then shot multiple times, hitting Harris at least once, police said, before the car fled the scene.

Lewis' attorney, Jimmy Morris, told Lightle that Lewis wouldn't be able to make a bail above $50,000, noting he had surrendered on his own and is a nearly lifelong Pulaski County resident.

"He is not running," Morris said. "He is not a flight risk."

Lightle then set the bail at $350,000, though she said she would hold a bond hearing later to reconsider if Morris asks for one.

Lewis' death was the 22nd homicide of the year in Little Rock and the 11th in April, which matches December 1993 and July 2012 for the highest homicide totals in a month over the past 20½ years, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported Thursday.
