A 23-year-old Mabelvale man has been arrested on a charge of first-degree murder in a fatal shooting more than six years ago.

Patrick Lamond Miller is accused of killing 20-year-old Milton White Jr., who was found the night of March 17, 2008, with at least one gunshot wound in an Asher Avenue parking lot.

A statement from police said only that Miller "was developed as the primary suspect" such that a warrant could be obtained for his arrest.

Police Lt. Sidney Allen said he had no additional information about what led to the arrest in the six-year-old investigation.

Allen declined to call it a "cold case," noting the department no longer has an active squad that focuses solely on unsolved crimes. But he said detectives do "periodically look into [unsolved cases] to see if they can develop suspects."

Miller, who was arrested about 6 p.m.Thursday at Chicot Road and Milford Drive, remained in the Pulaski County jail Friday with bail not yet set.
