Work on Higdon Ferry Road, also known as Arkansas 88, in Hot Springs will require lane closures next week, state highway officials said.

Crews smoothing the driving surface between Emory Street and Central Avenue will reduce traffic on Higdon Ferry to one lane in each direction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, the state Highway and Transportation Department said.

Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, cones and warning signs, officials added.
