Little Rock artist Kevin Kresse and Arvest Bank president Jim Cargill were honored April 24 by the Pulaski Technical College Foundation at the annual fundraiser Business of Art.
Cargill, a fourth-generation Arkansas banker, has been with Arvest since 1985 and is responsible for all commercial, consumer and mortgage lending in central Arkansas. Kresse is an award-winning painter and sculptor with public sculptures on display throughout central Arkansas.
Held in the Campus Center at the college’s main campus in North Little Rock, the event included a silent auction and live art exposition with Matt McLeod presenting a painting demonstration.
Two garden sculptures by Kresse were auctioned along with several other artworks.
The college’s Arkansas Culinary School students had a chance to showcase their work as well. They provided a variety of hors d’oeuvres and desserts for the reception.
Event co-chairmen were Sonya Murphy and Robb Fiser. Harry Hamlin is chairman of the foundation board.
Money raised will be used for student scholarships. Pulaski Tech is a two-year college that serves central Arkansas with 88 occupational/technical degree and certificate programs, a university transfer curriculum and specialized programs for business and industry.
