The seventh annual MacArthur Park 5K: History on the Run begins at 7 p.m. Friday in downtown Little Rock.
The chip-timed, 3.1-mile footrace starts and ends in the park drive at Ninth Street between Commerce and McMath streets. A new three-quarters-mile Dog Jog family fun run will loop inside the park.
Fast runners can compete for cash prizes, but all finishers will get pizza and beer($10 for nonracers).
Registration costs $25 and can be dropped off during business hours at Downtown Little Rock Partnership, Lafayette Square, Sixth and Louisiana streets, Suite 305. Online registration is at macarthurparklr.com until midnight Wednesday. Race night registration, $35, will be accepted between 5 and 6:50 p.m. in the park.
All proceeds benefit MacArthur Park and its affiliated programs.
