Public meetings added to discuss state's bike, pedestrian plan

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department is inviting the public to discuss how to update the state's bicycle and pedestrian plans.

The department on Monday announced additional public-involvement meetings across the state to obtain residents' feedback about its Arkansas State Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan.

The next meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Cooper Alumni Center on the Arkansas State University Campus in Jonesboro, according to a news release from the department. A formal presentation that focuses on northeast Arkansas transportation issues will begin at 6:15 p.m.

Future meetings in other parts of the state will be announced as they are scheduled, the release states.
