King Biscuit Blues Festival lineup set

The King Biscuit Blues Festival has announced its musical lineup for its 29th year, set for Oct. 8-11 in Helena-West Helena.

The slate of acts — which this year will feature musical headliners Sonny Landreth and Roy Rogers; Delbert McClinton; and Jimmy Vivino and the Black Italians — was announced by organizers late Tuesday.

Main-stage acts Thursday also include Mr. Sipp “The Mississippi Blues Child”; Sonny Burgess; Jimmy Hall and Wet Willie; Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues; and Sterling Billingsley Band. On Friday, performers include Paul Thorn; Anson Funderburg and The Rockets; Reba Russell and Toronzo Cannon. On Saturday, the lineup is rounded out by James Cotton; Matt Schofield; Papa Don McMinn and others.

Besides the main stage, there will also be the Lockwood-Stackhouse Stage, the Bit-O-Blues Stage, the Rising Biscuit Stage and the Gospel Stage, which all offer free shows.

Three-day tickets for the festival, centered at Cherry and Missouri streets, downtown Helena-West Helena, run $50 for the main-stage performances and are on sale Wednesday at Tickets for an individual day cost $30, organizers said.
