I-430 bridge wreck kills Mayflower boy

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas State Police say a 12-year-old Mayflower boy was killed in a crash on the Interstate 430 bridge over the Arkansas River in Little Rock.

State police say the wreck occurred about 3 a.m. Thursday. According to a preliminary report, Raphael Skinner Jr. died when the vehicle he was riding in left the road and crashed.

State police say five others from Mayflower were injured in the wreck, including four children ranging in age from 4 to 6. Authorities say the injured were taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

A spokesman for the hospital said one of the injured children, 4-year-old Raven Brown, remains in critical condition. Conditions were not available for the other passengers.

The police report did not say why the vehicle left the road. Weather conditions were dry and clear at the time of the crash.
