Team Rubicon shuts registration over weather

LITTLE ROCK — A volunteer organization is closing its resource centers for registration in Faulkner County because of severe weather expected to hit the area.

Officials with Team Rubicon said Thursday that they will close its resource centers until Friday morning for registration and dispatch, because of the strong winds and heavy rain expected to hit Faulkner County in the afternoon. Team Rubicon is a volunteer organization that works with first responders and military veterans.

Volunteer crews have been cleaning up debris in Faulkner County over the past week, where 11 deaths in the area have been blamed on the April 27 tornado. Officials say 15 people have died in the state from the twister. The death of a baby, born after the tornado hit, has also been attributed to the storm.
