The National Weather Service in Little Rock on Friday confirmed that an EF1-rated tornado was on the ground Thursday night in Pope County.

The service’s official Twitter account states that the tornado’s path was 1.7 miles long. Some of the tornado's damage includes a destroyed chicken house and an overturned mobile home in the area, according to the service.

Julie Lesko, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Little Rock, said this is the state’s seventh confirmed tornado of 2014.
