Pine Bluff shooting suspect held

A 26-year-old man is being in the shooting and robbery of another man last week in Pine Bluff, police said.

Joseph Byrd has been arrested on a first-degree battery charge in the Friday attack, Pine Bluff Police Department spokesman Richard Wegner said Monday.

Eddie Ringo told police that he was shot in the head from behind about 9:40 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of West 28th Avenue by Byrd.

Byrd then went through Ringo's pockets before leaving the scene, Wegner said.

Ringo was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he was recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
