U.S. 70 work to require lane closures in Hot Springs

Pavement tests on U.S. 70 will cause lanes to close next week in Hot Springs, officials said Friday.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said the tests will occur just east of Malvern Avenue and will close the eastbound and westbound inside lanes.

Work on the westbound inside lane will begin Tuesday and last through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and eastbound work will begin May 19 and continue through May 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, officials said.

Traffic will be controlled with cones and warning signs. Motorists are asked to be cautious when traveling through the area.
