Man arrested in girlfriend's shooting

Texarkana police arrested a man accused of shooting his girlfriend on Friday morning.

Police responded about 6:30 a.m. to the 3700 block of East Street in reference to a shooting, a news release states.

Investigators said Antonio Black, 30, shot his girlfriend, LaPassion Henry, 23, twice after a domestic dispute that began Thursday evening.

After the initial dispute on Thursday, Black found Henry and her cousin inside a vehicle at the 3700 block of East Street and rammed his vehicle into Henry’s vehicle before shooting her, police said.

Black then got into the car with Henry and left the scene, leaving Henry’s cousin behind.

Black drove his girlfriend onto Miller County Road 26, where he left her in a roadway, the release states.

Police said they located Black and arrested him on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault of a family or household member, kidnapping, theft of property and criminal attempt of capital murder.

Henry was found and airlifted to Christus St. Michael Hospital for medical attention. Her condition is unknown at this time.
