Puerto Rico's El Yunque forest partially reopens

— Officials in Puerto Rico say they are reopening portions of El Yunque rain forest, a popular tourist attraction and the only tropical rain forest in the U.S. National Forest system.

The U.S. Forest Service says three areas including the visitor center, a waterfall and one trail reopened on Saturday.

All other trails and facilities remain closed.

Officials had closed the forest following heavy rains last week that caused flooding and damaged roads and trails.
