TULSA — A trial is set to begin Monday for a man accused of raping and killing an 84-year-old woman and beating her husband during a home invasion two years ago in Tulsa.
The Tulsa World reported that 22-year-old Tyrone Woodfork is accused of kicking in the door of the home belonging to Nancy and Bob Strait, beating them and raping Nancy Strait. Nancy Strait died a day later from injuries, while her 89-year-old husband died later from underlying medical conditions.
Woodfork is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of armed robbery and single counts of first-degree burglary and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Prosecutors have said they are seeking life without parole for Woodfork. Woodfork's attorney declined to comment on the case.
