Two hit in 'crossfire' during Little Rock shooting, police say

A woman was shot in the legs and a man in the back of the head early Sunday morning at a Little Rock gas station, police said.

Both victims reported that they believed they were in the crossfire of the shooting and not the intended targets.

Little Rock police say it happened about 1:40 a.m. at the Coastal gas station at 5000 Asher Ave.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, a 20-year-old woman was shot once with the bullet going through her upper right leg and into her left leg. A 29-year-old man in a different vehicle, meanwhile, was shot in the back of the head, though the bullet did not penetrate his skull, police said.

The victims were taken to St. Vincent Medical Infirmary Center for treatment.

The shooter is described as a black man 18 to 25 years old who stood 6-feet tall and weighed about 180 pounds.
