A Tuesday afternoon truck accident in Drew County left a Texas man dead, the Arkansas State Police said.

Arthur Jean Wade Jr., 52, of Farmers Branch, Texas, was driving an International truck west on U.S. 278, west of Arkansas 277 near Monticello, when the truck ran off the road, hit some bushes and came to a rest shortly before 3 p.m., according to a preliminary state police accident report.

Wade was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. by Drew County Deputy Coroner Larry Scroggins, according to the report.

The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the accident, state police said.

Wade’s death marks the 132nd on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary state police figures.
