The two Republicans advancing to a runoff in the Arkansas attorney general's race are wasting no time trying to position themselves as the best candidates to fulfill similar vows to use the office to fight the federal government.
A day after a primary that extended their nomination fight another three weeks, Leslie Rutledge and David Sterling sparred Wednesday over who has the best experience and credentials to be the state's top attorney. The winner of the June 10 primary will face Democratic state Rep. Nate Steel in the general election.
Rutledge had the lead in Tuesday's primary, but fell short of the majority needed to win the nomination outright in the race against Sterling and Jacksonville attorney Patricia Nation.
