Robert "Bobby" Draft, 50, is wanted in the killing of Douglas Cloyes, 72, outside Cloyes' Barber Road home in Bald Knob on Sunday.

Prosecuting Attorney Chris Raff said he also has charged Draft with second-degree battery in the beating of Draft's wife, Kathie Draft.

Raff said he has asked the FBI to join the hunt for Draft, who fled the area after the shooting, which occurred about 5 p.m. Sunday.

"We've not seen him since in Arkansas," Raff said. "We have some information that leads us to believe that he is presently in another state."

Authorities believe Draft, who lived next door to Cloyes, shot his father-in-law with a .223-caliber rifle.

Cloyes was armed with a .22-caliber pistol, Raff said.

The White County sheriff's office has said Draft is armed and should be considered dangerous.
