A Little Rock police officer was injured late Wednesday morning when his motorcycle struck a woman's vehicle.

A collision report states that motorcycle officer Tim Stankevitz, 44, was westbound on the 500 block of West Roosevelt Road shortly before noon when Katassja Washington, 25, of North Little Rock pulled out in front of him from the parking lot of Todd's T & C Auto Clinic.

Stankevitz, who said he was traveling about 25 mph, was unable to avoid Washington's black Chevrolet Impala and struck the side of her vehicle, causing him to flip over his handlebars and land on the Impala's hood.

The report states that Stankevitz had extreme pain in his left leg and couldn't stand. He was treated for his injuries at a hospital and released, authorities said.

Washington told police she was attempting to turn left into the eastbound lanes of Roosevelt Road and didn't see Stankevitz in time to avoid the collision. She was cited with failure to yield.

Very funny HotDemn. Those women are the most dangerous drivers you'll ever find. I'm glad he wasn't seriously injured.

AmericasDoomed, I'm just curious ... exactly who are those women - women in general, women who take their cars to Auto Shops, women who turn left? Other? Women are not the only people guilty of running out in front of someone, motorcyclist or not.... just saying. Glad the officer wasn't more seriously injured.

I was injured three times in the same type of accident in the first few years I started riding. First time it was a 80 yr old white man, second time it was a 17 yr old white girl and the last one was a 25 yr old white woman. In all three accidents the drivers gave the same excuse, "I didn't see the motorcycle" . So for the next 40 years I became a super defensive rider and driver. No more accidents but I'm not letting my guard down.

If you ride a bike you need to keep your head on a swivel, don't speed in built up areas and keep your brakes covered. And don't ride wearing shorts, flip flops and do-rags. It's only a matter of time before you go down. How much skin and mobility are you willing to gamble ? BTW, It's your choice to wear a helmet or not. If you choose not to your widow can use some of the insurance money to hook up with somebody that's not an idiot.
