Beebe to issue $500,000 of state funds for Pulaski debris cleanup

Gov. Mike Beebe has announced he will release $500,000 in state funds to help with the April 27 storm cleanup efforts in Pulaski County.

In a statement Friday, Beebe said $350,000 of the assistance will come from his Emergency Fund, and $150,000 will come from General Improvement Funds.

"Pulaski County is not included in the Public Assistance portion of the federal disaster declaration," the news release states. "As a result, the damaged areas of West Pulaski County will not receive federal aid for debris removal costs."

Individual and commercial damage claims across the federal disaster area in central Arkansas have totaled $68.7 million so far, according to the release.
